Freshman Year
Full immersion in entrepreneurship and building. Students leave freshman year with the experience, skills, and mindset to go build a $1M company.
The Four Pillars of Founder Bootcamp
Founders School students are domain experts who build an audience around their thinking and ship products that their audience wants. Year 1 teaches you to run that loop — expertise, audience, product — in miniature every week.
Each session is 8 weeks. Sell strangers on the street. Build and ship a product in days with AI. Validate by running a loop a week. Grow using proven techniques. Scale past the limits of what you can do alone.
Developed all year across three pillars: Life Skills (integrity, courage, agency, communication, leadership), Entrepreneurship (building, selling, iteration, financial thinking, domain expertise), and AI (thinking partner, augmented building, tool literacy, automation, ethics).
Every student is paired with a working entrepreneur who pair-works with them every afternoon — not a lecturer. Elite founders, investors, and thinkers drop in every other week. Plus a specialist bench we pull from when your situation needs expertise the team can't cover.

Questions
Yes. Full-time, in person, on campus. This isn't a remote program or a part-time accelerator. Students show up every day and build alongside their cohort.
$1M in profit. Real money. For students who enroll as freshmen, our guarantee applies — full tuition refund if you don't hit it. Some exceptions apply per the enrollment agreement.
9th through 12th grade — all four years of high school. The first class starts Fall 2026 with a cohort of 20 freshmen. We're primarily admitting freshmen, but will consider particularly strong sophomores and juniors.
AI-accelerated, mastery-based academics, using Alpha School's Timeback software. Students work through core subjects at their own pace using AI tools — no lectures, no busywork. Most finish by 11 a.m., freeing up the rest of the day to build.
Yes. Fully accredited high school diploma with a complete college-prep transcript. College is absolutely an option — but after four years of building real businesses, you might not need it.
We encourage students to build businesses in areas they're passionate about, narrowing in on scopes that can reach profitability on minimal investment capital and within a reasonable timeframe. We're not running a Series A pipeline — we're teaching students to build profitable companies they fully own. Past Alpha students have built e-commerce brands, software products, content businesses, services agencies, and consumer apps. Students keep their IP and equity.
We don't expect anyone to come in with a business or even a strong idea — that's the point of freshman year. The first year (Founder Bootcamp) is built around 30+ rapid validation cycles, hands-on mentorship with operators, and skill workshops in selling, AI building, and design. By the end, every student has launched something real and validated which direction to double down on for the next three years.
Founder Bootcamp gives you the skills, apprenticeships, and a validated business. Then three years scaling toward $1M, with more personalized mentorship and guidance depending on the immediate needs of each students business.
Every student gets ongoing 1:1 mentorship and guidance from a founder or operator, plus weekly fireside chats with guests from the broader network — people running real companies, not professional speakers. The mentor network is one of the strongest reasons to be in this program, the kind of access most people only get access to through an elite university, accelerator, or VC firm.
Yes. Students who don't put in the effort or who drag down the cohort culture will be removed. The standard exists to protect the students who are all-in. The expectations are high, but the support is strong as well. We don't want to see anyone fail, but we also want to see everyone succeed.
Five stages: online application, CCAT, a 15-minute screening interview with the Head of Founder Development, an entrepreneurship challenge + video, and an in-person interview & school visit. Each stage narrows the field.
20 students in the NYC freshman class for Fall 2026 — kept deliberately small to protect the experience. Students are organized into pods of ten, with dedicated EIRs and Fellows coaching them through the program. You'll spend more time with builders than most college students do with their professors.
We have scholarships available for exceptional candidates. We want the most ambitious teenagers in the world who are ready to go all-in on this program, not just the ones who can afford it. Don't let the tuition stop you from applying.
Yes. Families relocate for elite sports academies and performing arts schools all the time — this is the same thing for entrepreneurship. We're an in-person day school; families relocating to NYC handle housing on their own. And for students who are interested in boarding, we have an option for that as well. No exceptions on the in-person requirement.
For parents
Yes, they'll receive a fully accredited high school diploma with a complete college-prep transcript. The learning is compressed, not cut.
Your child will earn top SAT scores (our bar: 1400 freshman, 1500 sophomore — most prep schools don't hit that), complete APs, and graduate with a college-prep transcript. They'll also have a portfolio of real businesses. If they want college, they'll be more than ready. If they want to skip it and run their company, they'll be ready for that too.
For students who enroll as freshmen, our guarantee applies: if they don't hit $1M in profit by graduation, you get a full tuition refund. Some exceptions apply — details are covered in the enrollment agreement.
The academic side already meets or exceeds traditional college prep. Students who decide they want a conventional college route at any point can pivot — they'll have the test scores, transcript, AP credits, and a portfolio of real-world experience that admissions officers will love. The entrepreneurship side is additive, not at the expense of academics. If they don't want to continue focus on entrepreneurship, there are other programs available that they can transfer to.
Yes. Students are on campus 8:15 AM to 5 PM Monday–Friday with full staff coverage: EIRs, Fellows, Guides, and an academic coordinator. The afternoon “build” block is structured — workshops, mentor sessions, apprenticeship check-ins — not unstructured “go run a business” time. We're a school first.
Students who will thrive here already feel held back by the traditional school system. We're here to help them break through and build a business that can change their lives, while understanding they're still teenagers and will have ups and downs. Our team is there to provide enouragement and support as much as direct entrepreneurial guidance.
If we don't believe they're a good fit, we'll ask them to leave the program at the end of the year. In this case, you'll receive the refund, as it means either we made a mistake in admitting them or in providing the support they needed to succeed.
They're welcome to leave the program or switch to a different high school program anytime. However, students who drop out are not eligible for the refund.
They are, and we treat them that way. The schedule (8:15–5) leaves evenings and weekends open, more open than most high schools since we do not assign homework. NYC has every club sport, art program, and youth organization you can imagine, and we'll organize social activities for the students outside of school hours for those who are interested. Students keep their existing friend groups, build new ones in the cohort, and have time for the rest of being a teenager.
Founders School runs on the Alpha School platform — Alpha's existing K-8 schools have produced students learning at 2x the rate of traditional schools, with multiple years of test data backing it up. The program is funded and led by Joe Liemandt (founder of Trilogy Software, Alpha School), with operators from across his portfolio executing it. We're not a startup in a garage. We're an extension of an education platform that's been working for a decade, backed by the expertise and network of a multi-billion dollar software company.
